Affordable housing win in ABAG decision

Last week, Public Advocates, along with ACCE, Genesis, Urban Habitat, and other partners from the ’6 Big Wins for Social Equity Network’, scored an exciting victory for affordable housing.

On July 21, 2011, the Executive Board of the Association of Bay Area Governments (ABAG) unanimously agreed to include an option in the planning process that focuses on ensuring affordable housing in all of the Bay Area’s opportunity-rich and job-rich cities.

This decision is a big win for Plan Bay Area and moves us one step closer toward a more equitable and sustainable future.
